The very famous Full Moon Party of Koh Phangan takes place at Haad Ron, an expanded village of beach bars, cheap chicken burgers, and low cut figure-hugging outfits. During the party, the beach is packed with trance, dance, buckets, and various other suspicious substances.
If you can't make it to Koh Phangan on full moon party though, Koh Phangan has a lot of reasons to party … half moon, black moon, jungle party, shiva moon party. Just come and you get a good chance to catch one of them.
Located "after" Koh Samui when we related to the mainland of Thailand, most visitors to Koh Phangan come through Koh Samui. Though there are direct boat services from either Surat Thani (the southern province of Thailand) or Bangkok, most uses ferry services from either Big Buddha or Nathon piers of Koh Samui.
