What makes Koh Samui up is mainly its string of beautiful beaches. Regardless of its small size, it has a number of beaches around the islands, and all are just gorgeous. There is no way we can compare them … deciding which ones are better than the others.

There are a number of outlying islands reachable by a short boat trip from Koh Samui, all of them however offer the same theme, beaches. Located off the southeast coast of Thailand, at the opposite side as Phuket, Koh Samui is easily reachable from Phuket with a short 30 minutes flight. Flight to Bangkok is also available. Unfortunately there is no direct international flight so foreign tourists will have to stop at either Bangkok or Phuket. Another way to reach Koh Samui is to take a ferry from Surat Thani, a southern province capital of Thailand.
The only airport of the island is privately owned by Bangkok Air, a Thai small domestic airliner, who play a strict monopolistic game that restrict any other airliner to fly into Koh Samui. The such exclusivity makes airfare to Koh Samui quite expensive, preventing many who are attracted to come prefer to hold their interest.
The other side of situation however puts Koh Samui into a rather exclusive position, with only those who can afford the price can come. Therefore, regardless of its size and less visitors, Koh Samui is home to hundred of amazing private villas.
